MMM in Belgium

Since 2015, MMM has a national presence in Belgium to carry out its mission as closely as possible to the concerns of mothers living in Belgium.

Its aims:

  • Affirm, promote and ensure recognition by public opinion, political leaders and institutions, in laws and conventions in Belgium, of the educational, economic and social missions of mothers
  • Combat the various forms of violence, exclusion, discrimination and exploitation to which Belgian mothers are subjected
  • Support mothers’ action for peace, human security and social cohesion

Advocacy at national level: Mothers and the Economy

Issues of concern include maternity leave, work-life balance, pensions and the stigmatisation of motherhood

Advocacy at national level: Mothers and Health

In Belgium, MMM has been focussing on the extension of maternity leave and promotes respectful maternity care
