Mothers, a political issue: how can we best defend them at the highest level?

21.03.25

Afaf Abounouadar, MMM’s Executive Director, was a guest on the hugely popular French Podcast series La Matrescence, to talk about an essential but all too often invisible subject: the recognition of mothers' work in our society.

In her interview, Afaf explains why it is urgent to recognise the value of mothers’ work, how the pandemic has exacerbated inequalities, particularly in terms of mental health and employment, and why the involvement of fathers is an essential lever for changing the narrative. Afaf also talks about the concrete actions taken by MMM to shift the needle, the need to adapt the world of work to the realities of parents, and what each and every one of us can do to support a shift in thinking.
